Show the contradiction, then act it out — inna_tevi

A September Reel puts the entire relatable conflict on screen immediately, then resolves it with a small phone gesture. Includes observed first-five-second beats and original prompt guidance.

Created about 3 hours ago

Observed opening

Instagram creator @inna_tevi, a 6.57-second Reel captioned #marketingstruggles. The page displays September 21; its publication time element is 2026-09-22T06:07:48Z, which is September 21 in America/Vancouver.

The first-frame overlay reads: “Me: want to delete social media Also me: work in marketing”.

  • Around 0s: a person in sunglasses sits at a café table, with a drink and a phone in front of them. The complete yellow overlay is already visible.
  • Around 2.1s: they reach toward the phone.
  • Around 4.2s: they hold and look down at the phone. The overlay and camera framing remain consistent.

The soundtrack was not independently audited. Instagram attributes the audio to lindseyelliottrealtor; that attribution does not establish what is heard in this particular clip.

Available performance evidence

Observed October 3, 2026 (America/Vancouver): the post showed 17.2K likes; its tile on the linked Instagram audio page showed 286K views. Both are rounded public displays. No retention, controlled comparison or growth series was available. These are cumulative observations after month end, not September-only totals. High engagement does not prove the opening caused it.

Why test this structure

The proposed mechanism is immediate recognition: the text sets up two incompatible wants, then a small action makes the contradiction visible. It works without needing a complex scene or an explanation before the joke. This is an interpretation, not a measured effect.

Use for a specific, familiar tension in the audience's day. Avoid vague complaints or jokes that depend on humiliating a customer. If the situation is fictional, describe it as a skit.

Instructions for an AI prompt

Inputs: topic, audience, tone, one recognisable contradiction, a simple prop and the next useful payoff.
Create an original 0–5-second storyboard:

  1. At 0–1s, put both sides of the contradiction in a short, readable overlay. Show the relevant person and prop immediately.
  2. At 1–3s, describe one small movement toward the behaviour that contradicts the stated wish.
  3. At 3–5s, complete the gesture while keeping the text readable. Do not add unnecessary cuts.
  4. Propose a continuation: a useful tip, a brief resolution or a clear ending that fulfils the setup.
Return time, shot/action, overlay, proposed speech or intentional silence, optional sound and payoff. Make it understandable without sound. Label all new wording and audio choices as creative suggestions; do not copy the source caption or claim its performance will transfer.

Original example

A hypothetical estimator skit: overlay “Want a quiet afternoon / Opened one more estimate.” The performer sets down a mug, glances at a laptop and starts typing. Continue with one practical way to collect missing job details before estimating. This is an original, untested adaptation.

Comparison test

Compare the complete first-frame contradiction with a neutral task label on similar footage. Check early retention, completion and shares per reached account when available, over equal windows. Keep missing denominators explicit.
