How to use this hook

Use when you can demonstrate a real, precise exception to something your audience assumes. Bring the supporting evidence before writing the opening. It suits explainers, product demonstrations and myth corrections; it is a poor fit for a claim that only becomes defensible after a long disclaimer.

Instructions to give an AI

Using my topic, audience, tone, verified claim and available footage, build an original 0–5-second video opening:

1. Identify one familiar belief and the specific correction the supplied evidence supports. If either is missing, ask for it; do not invent a surprising fact.
2. At 0–1s, use a short direct-address line and a face or object already relevant to the topic.
3. At 1–3s, show the familiar picture and a visible detail that complicates it. Specify the shot and a short overlay; use annotations only where accurate.
4. At 3–5s, state the qualification plainly and show what the viewer will learn next.
5. Write the immediate continuation that actually explains the correction. Include any essential qualification in the opening itself.
   Return a storyboard with time, visual/camera action, proposed spoken line, overlay and optional audio suggestion. Label all new lines and audio choices as creative suggestions. Do not reuse the creator's phrasing or imply their endorsement.

Original demonstration concept

For a hypothetical follow-up tutorial: 0–1s, show a full inbox; 1–3s, highlight an enquiry with no next step; 3–5s, say “Start by finding the conversations without a next action.” Only show a real or clearly labelled demo inbox. Continue by assigning that next action. This adapts the visual correction, not the astronomy claim.

Test

Compare with a straightforward opening that states the same lesson. Keep the continuation and audience as similar as practical. Check early retention and completion within the same platform and observation window, if available; report the actual denominator and avoid causal conclusions from one post.
