Released August 10, 2026 · AI Prompt and Template Circles can now branch on user choices and reveal only relevant fields, while AI Chat and related Circle surfaces make guided prompt filling easier.
Switch variables and conditional fields make reusable AI Prompt Circles easier to guide from first choice to final result.
⠀
Where: The AI Prompt editor and the prompt’s variable panel.
What changed: A new Switch variable lets you present a clear choice such as “Short” or “Detailed,” with a default selection and the same colored variable treatment used elsewhere.
What you can do: Give people a small set of deliberate paths through a prompt instead of asking them to type a choice that the prompt may not recognize.
⠀
Where: The Visibility section while editing an AI Prompt or Template field list, and the filled prompt or Quick add view.
What changed: A field can now be shown only when an earlier Switch or single-choice field matches selected options. The condition follows the prompt through editing, viewing, AI Chat, and Template quick add.
What you can do: Keep forms focused by revealing the next useful question only when it applies, while preserving the right values for the selected path.
⠀
Where: Each option in a Switch variable’s editor.
What changed: Every choice can now have its own branch text, including nested variables and colored tokens. The selected branch is expanded into the final prompt, while unselected branches stay out of the message.
What you can do: Make one AI Prompt Circle produce meaningfully different instructions for different audiences, formats, or workflows without maintaining several copies.
⠀
Where: The AI Prompt viewer, the AI Chat composer, and prompt insertion from Search.
What changed: Visible variables and their current values stay synchronized as a prompt is opened, inserted, or resolved. AI Chat also keeps inserted prompt groups together and offers inline variable suggestions while you write branch text.
What you can do: Adjust a reusable prompt before sending it, insert more than one prompt into a conversation, and find variable tokens with keyboard-friendly suggestions.
⠀
Where: Template field editing and the Quick add dialog.
What changed: Template fields now use the same Switch and conditional-visibility behavior as AI Prompt Circles, with clearer field-type selection and more reliable expansion of the values that belong in the created Circle.
What you can do: Build reusable entry forms that ask only relevant questions and create a complete Circle from the choices you made.
⠀
Where: Todo creation and viewing, Search results, and Circle editing surfaces.
What changed: Related editing refinements make Todo details and controls easier to work with, improve Search result interactions, and keep prompt and template editing controls more consistent across screens.
What you can do: Capture richer Todo Circles, move through Search results with fewer accidental opens, and edit reusable prompt structures with more predictable controls.
The combined result is a more guided way to build one reusable AI Prompt or Template Circle that can adapt to many answers and still produce the right final output.
